The Nourished Body is designed to offer people consistent, high-quality movement education without having to be dependent on a studio’s location through Pilates sessions. Created by Melanie McGray, a mom of three young boys, a business owner and a former professional dancer/choreographer, The Nourished Body came about due to her busy lifestyle and the need to feel grounded by nurturing her body.
While mothering, travelling and working, Melanie had less time to commit to an in-studio program. This is her solution; a platform that gives people the ability to stay on track with a fitness program no matter what life brings, and no matter where life takes you and what location you are currently at.
Pilates is a movement/exercise approach to better help align, strengthen and stretch your body. The movements are used to train the body how to move more efficiently while gaining access to your deeper musculature to support the body from the inside to out. I use the Pilates method as a re-education of the way you do everyday actions. This is particularly effective if you are in chronic pain, are pre-post-natal or dealing with a post/pre-operative situation.
The Nourished Body offers a variety of sessions ranging from one-to-one, semi-private or group Pilates sessions to workshops about Pelvic Floor Health and Breathe Baby Down (BBD). Melanie also offers tailor-made professional consultations in order to fully understand your history and needs and determine an appropriate approach forward.
